A Case of Candidiasis of the Pharynx

Abstract
|
|
|
The anther experienced recently a case of candidiasis of the pharynx. A 70-year-old female patient was admitted with the chief complaints of sore throat and swallowing pain which bad gradually developed for last one year.
Clinical examination revealed a dirty grasp-white pseudomembrane on the posterior pharyngeal wall.
The bacteriological study showed non-pathogenic gram positive cocco-bacillus
The final diagnosis was confirmed by culture for fungus as candidiasis of the pharynx.
The patient received treatment under diagnosis of candidiasis and discharged with marked improvement.
